Key Responsibilities Controls & Automation Support Provide technical support for control systems and automation-related projects. Support multiple projects simultaneously and transition effectively between changing priorities and assignments. Assist with the development, modification, configuration, and implementation of control-system applications. Field Support & Site Walkdowns Perform and assist with site walkdowns to gather information and verify existing field conditions. Coordinate field findings with plant personnel and design engineering staff. Assist with resolving field issues affecting project execution. Cable & Wiring Verification Review and verify cables, wiring, terminations, and related controls information in the field. Compare field installations against applicable engineering drawings, documentation, and project requirements. Identify discrepancies and communicate findings to appropriate engineering or project personnel. Support updates to documentation resulting from field verification activities. Maintain strong attention to detail when performing cable and wiring checks. I/O List Development Assist with developing and maintaining Input/Output (I/O) lists . Review control-system information to verify signal requirements and equipment interfaces. Coordinate I/O information with applicable drawings, control narratives, and field conditions. Maintain accurate documentation as project requirements evolve. Support controls configuration activities using approved I/O information. Control Narratives & Documentation Review and assist with the development and markup of control narratives . Incorporate engineering and field information into project documentation. Support documentation updates resulting from design changes, field findings, or startup activities. Assist with maintaining accurate controls documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Communicate questions or inconsistencies to appropriate engineering personnel. Layouts & Conceptual Design Assist with preparing layouts and conceptual designs for controls-related projects. Support the development of preliminary engineering concepts and project solutions. Coordinate design information with plant conditions and project requirements. Assist engineering teams with evaluating potential design alternatives. Provide field information necessary to support design development. Cost Estimating Prepare and assist with cost estimates within applicable controls and electrical sub-disciplines . Gather project information needed to develop preliminary estimates. Assist with identifying labor, material, equipment, and other potential project requirements. Support project teams with evaluating scope and estimating requirements. Maintain accurate supporting documentation for project estimates. Startup & Commissioning Support Provide technical and field support during equipment and control-system startup activities. Assist with system checks, functional verification, and troubleshooting. Coordinate with plant personnel, engineering teams, vendors, and other project stakeholders during startup. Help identify and resolve controls-related issues affecting successful system operation. Support project turnover and completion activities as assigned. Required Qualifications 0-5 years of experience in controls, electrical systems, instrumentation, automation, engineering, power generation, industrial facilities, or a related technical field. Solid knowledge of electrical systems and principles . Proficiency with computer-based systems and technical platforms. Controls configuration and/or graphics experience with at least one applicable industrial control platform. Ability to perform or assist with field inspections and site walkdowns.
