  • Controls emphasis (mechatronics) strongly preferred EIT registration or ability to obtain registration required CAN, Simulink and control design experience strongly preferred or sufficient coursework to know that this field is a firm career objective Current valid Driver's License Good analytical, verbal and written skills required Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision Must be willing to travel 25% of the time, potentially on short notice, which may include flying Responsibilities The Altec control system design process involves working with customers to develop an idea and support it through the Altec Product Development Process and into the hands of our customers.
This includes requirements generation and definition, initial conceptual design, prototype design and build, component and sensor selection, meeting functional and safety performance requirements, cost benefit analysis, electrical layout and design, performance and design testing and verification, design optimization for manufacturability and service, customer interfacing including direct customer support. The Altec Controls Group utilizes the Model Based Design controls development environment. We seek to implement classical closed loop controls with an eye towards emerging advanced controls strategies.
