Company Summary Accord Federal Services, LLC is a veteran owned government contracting firm located in Knoxville, TN. Our core area of business is facility management and maintenance of federal government properties. We have been in operation for over thirteen years and have existing contracts at locations across the country. Job Summary The Electrical Lead is responsible for overseeing and performing the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems supporting a complex federal laboratory and research facility. This position serves as the technical lead for critical power infrastructure, including uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, emergency generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), battery backup systems, motor controls, lighting systems, and laboratory electrical distribution equipment. The Electrical Lead ensures compliance with all applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and contract requirements while supporting preventive and corrective maintenance activities through a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in commercial, institutional, or laboratory environments, strong knowledge of NEC and
NFPA 70E
requirements, and the ability to maintain reliable operation of mission-critical electrical systems that support continuous facility operations. Key Responsibilities Lead all electrical O&M, including continuous operation, maintenance, alteration, and repair of all secondary power systems at the EEC campus. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on the 90 kVA Liebert UPS, emergency generator backup systems, and ATS. Install and service branch/specialty circuits for commercial and laboratory applications, including isolated-ground circuits for sensitive scientific equipment. Conduct annual IR thermography surveys and load-bank/transfer testing in compliance with NFPA 70E and EPA requirements. Renovate and modernize electrical distribution systems as directed under Davis-Bacon Act work orders. Maintain detailed as-builts and electrical documentation; update CMMS records within 24 hours of all maintenance activities. Serve as the primary emergency response resource for electrical emergencies, ensuring response within 3 hours of notification.
Requirements:
5 years as a licensed electrician in the State of New Jersey. Experience in secondary power operations; deep
NEC/NFPA
70 and 70E knowledge. Managing continuous O&M, alterations, and repairs of feeders, switchgear, panelboards, and branch/specialty circuits for commercial and laboratory applications.
Critical power specialist:
UPS, batteries, capacitors, fans, calibration, power-quality analysis, emergency generators, and ATS; IR thermography; load-bank/transfer testing; and monitoring integration for high reliability.
Installation and diagnostics expertise:
lighting fixtures, ballasts/LED drivers, motors/VFDs, MCCs, sanitary pump controls, breakers/fuses, lab circuits (isolated grounds, clean power); CMMS-driven PMs; detailed as-builts; strict code/safety compliance.
