An Electrical Engineer designs, develops, and tests products and systems that use or produce electricity, including power generators, electric motors, radar and navigation systems, and communication systems. Works on larger electrical systems rather than small electronic products or devices.
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and development of electrical control systems and switchgear for advanced wire drawing and cable manufacturing equipment. Key Responsibilities Design electrical control systems, power distribution, and switchgear assemblies. Create and maintain electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical / Engineering Base Develop engineering documentation including bills of material, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications. Ensure designs comply with applicable standards including
NEC, CSA, UL508A, NFPA 70, NFPA
79, and
NFPA 70E.
Collaborate with mechanical engineering teams to integrate electrical and mechanical systems. Support manufacturing, testing, and production teams during build and acceptance phases. Review engineering changes and implement design improvements. Participate in project execution from concept through commissioning. Provide technical support to internal stakeholders and customers when required. Qualifications & Experience Electrical Engineering Design Strong experience with electrical control panel and switchgear design. Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical. Ability to develop detailed engineering drawings and documentation. Knowledge of control circuits, power distribution, and industrial electrical systems. Standards & Compliance Thorough understanding of
NEC, UL508A, NFPA 70, NFPA 79, NFPA
70E, and CSA requirements. Experience designing systems for industrial equipment or machinery. Additional Requirements Familiarity with PLC-controlled machinery and automation systems. Experience collaborating with mechanical engineering teams. Knowledge of SolidWorks is advantageous. Understanding of manufacturing and industrial equipment environments. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. 5+ years of relevant experience preferred. position is on-site in Swedesboro, NJ #
