Exempt Caliber Imaging & Diagnostics, Inc. is a global leader in the design and manufacture of in-vivo and ex-vivo confocal microscopy equipment for the medical device, clinical research, and scientific research industries. With over 20 years of experience, Caliber I.D. has been delivering innovative imaging solutions that show tissue at the cellular level for use in applications such as dermatology, neurological sciences, developmental biology, pathology, and translational research. We have an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineer.
Job Summary:
Responsible for a wide variety of tasks related to the design and manufacture of medical devices known as confocal imaging technology.
Essential Technical Skills:
Play a key role in all phases of the product development cycle which includes requirement/definition, design and development, verification (such as unit tests) and traceability matrix, and transfer to manufacturing. Responsible for the design and development of digital/analog circuits. Accountable for electromechanical packaging with implementation from concept through production. Responsible for component specification, schematic design, bill of materials, and engineering change orders. Participate in the high-level architecture and design of electronic systems. Provide technical oversight, review, and support to development teams during product design and development. Perform functional checks and test products to ensure conformance to quality standards. Responsible for all design reviews and milestones against schedule and marketing requirements. Maintain and update the design history file for electronic design to meet ISO 9001 and
ISO 13485
requirements Understands system grounding/shielding and EMI mitigation design practices. Perform functional checks and test products to ensure conformance to quality standards. Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. 5 + years of experience in digital/analog design for manufacturing. Knowledge and experience with schematic capture (Altium), KiCad, ISE and/or Vivado, SPICE, etc. Knowledge and experience in FPGA design. Strong technical and problem-solving skills. Experience with test agencies
UL, FCC, CSA
etc. Familiar with embedded processor design. Familiar with motor control design. Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint Ability to multi-task, organize, plan and prioritize work. Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration. Regularly required to sit while using hands to operate a computer or other technologies. Regularly required to communicate. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The noise level in the work environment is usually light. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
