Job Description

The Project/Controls Engineer assists in the design and development of programs for material handling equipment. This position understands equipment, business and customer requirements that drive the design of the technical solutions and participates in all phases of product development lifecycle, including the analysis, design, electrical designs, electrical installation support, PLC/HMI program development, commissioning, debugging, onsite support and training, remote support.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works conveyor electrical designs utilizing PLCs and distributed I/O
  • Interfaces with internal engineering/project management and customers to determine system requirements.
  • Supports electrical installation by working with electrical installers.
  • Debugs and commissions
PLC & HMI, VFD
controls of various conveyor complexity.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years Rockwell PLCs & HMIs, Siemens PLCs and HMIs, VFDS, Ethernet, Profinet
  • 20-25% travel either locally and nationally may be required.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Outlook, Autocad or Draftsite 2D
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25-40 pounds.
  • Climb 6-10ft ladders to examine component locations and wiring
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
