Job Description
Cox Automotive is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and optimize telecommunications and media systems that power our automotive technology platforms. You will lead electrical architecture for connected vehicle, data, and retail solutions, developing schematics, PCB layouts, and power systems for reliable, scalable products. Partner with software, hardware, and network teams to ensure signal integrity, EMC compliance, and system safety. You'll mentor junior engineers, support prototype and lab validation, and drive continuous improvement across global products used by dealers and consumers worldwide. Responsibilities Design and optimize electrical architectures for telecom and media systems in automotive platforms Develop schematics, PCB layouts, and power distribution for reliable, scalable products Ensure compliance with EMC, safety, and industry standards Collaborate with software, hardware, and network teams on system integration Lead prototype build, lab validation, and troubleshooting Analyze signal integrity, grounding, and thermal performance Document designs, test plans, and engineering change orders Mentor and guide junior electrical engineers Support cross-functional design reviews and risk assessments Drive continuous improvement in design quality and development processes Required Skills Electrical circuit design PCB design and layout Power electronics and distribution Signal integrity analysis EMC/EMI design and mitigation Embedded hardware integration Telecommunications systems fundamentals Hardware lab test and validation Schematic capture and ECAD tools Failure analysis and root cause investigation
