Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented AutoCAD Drafter or Drafter specializing in Electrical Engineering to join our design team. In this role, you will be responsible for working with senior engineers to create electrical and lighting schematics, layouts, and system designs using CAD software. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with engineering professionals and contribute to innovative building and infrastructure designs that make a real impact. Duties Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings using AutoCAD software. May develop the need to create accurate 3D models of electrical systems and building information modeling (BIM) using Revit. Prepare CAD documentation for electrical system design, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts aligned with NEC and NFPA 70 compliance standards. Collaborate closely with electrical engineers and project teams to translate design concepts into precise CAD drawings. Incorporate electrical wiring details, lighting layouts, circuiting plans into project drawings. Ensure all drawings meet building codes, standards, and client specifications. Assist in reviewing construction documents, performing clash detection, and updating CAD files as needed throughout project phases. Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD. Bluebeam, and Microsoft suite of products preferred. Understanding of electrical system design principles including schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout design. Some knowledge of electrical building codes such as NEC. Ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams on complex projects involving system design and construction documentation.
