Job Title:
Electrical Engineer Job Description Join one of the world's leading automotive technology suppliers headquartered in France, renowned for its focus on sustainable mobility, advanced cockpit experiences, and lighting. This organization equips half of the world's vehicles with its products. The position is at the PPIC Tooling and Equipment center, specializing in emissions control technologies. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our design team, responsible for creating electrical systems for tooling and equipment. Responsibilities Define the bill of materials (BOM) for project quoting. Develop 2D/3D panel layouts using Solidworks and/or AutoCAD. Create wiring and pneumatic schematics. Define the automation concept for tooling and equipment. Interface with equipment and controls engineers. Coordinate with third-party safety auditors and external resources. Conduct design reviews with controls engineers. Complete 2D drawings of electrical panels. Generate and manage bill of materials. Implement changes for product/process. Provide support for manufacturing during the design phase, addressing changes or problems. Assist controls engineers and assembly team members. Essential Skills Minimum five years of electrical engineering design experience. Proficiency in machine and control panel design, primarily using Allen-Bradley. Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Electrical Engineering Technology. Experience with servo drive and robot design, MIG welding, canning, muffler, gauging, and tube forming. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Electrical Engineering Technology. Background in system integration. Work Environment The work environment is a climate-controlled, clean prototype facility. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Onsite presence is required from Monday to Thursday, with the option to work from home on Fridays. You will be provided with your own desk and monitor, working alongside other mechanical engineers. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.08/hr.
