Job Title:
Electrical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and integrate electrical systems for distributed power generation projects. This role involves supporting system-level integration of electrical and electro-mechanical subsystems across multiple vendors, while collaborating closely with mechanical engineers to ensure proper electrical-mechanical integration with an eye towards mass production. Responsibilities Develop electrical architectures, schematics, wiring diagrams, and interface definitions. Specify and integrate various power electronics subsystems including VFDs, DC-DC converters, and AC inverters. Investigate, design, and support integration of battery systems, power distribution equipment, switchgear, circuit protection, and control hardware. Interface with external partner companies, vendors, and suppliers to align designs, requirements, and deliverables. Support prototype builds, testing, commissioning, and iterative design improvements. Produce and maintain clear electrical documentation and design packages. Essential Skills Expertise in controls systems, power electronics: VFDs, DC-DC converters, AC inverters. Knowledge of control systems, PLCs, or embedded control architectures. Experience with distributed power generation or energy systems. Proficiency in designing to applicable codes and standards (NEC, UL, IEEE, and related specifications). Familiarity with connectorization, harnessing, and weatherproofing techniques used in automotive and genset applications. Skill in commissioning, troubleshooting, and field support of electrical systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. Mid-career experience level. Strong foundation in low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, control systems, and genset subsystems. Experience integrating electrical systems from multiple vendors and technology stacks. Ability to work independently and manage multiple parallel engineering efforts. Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating across disciplines and organizations. Work Environment Operate effectively in a remote, startup-style environment with a high degree of autonomy. The role involves working closely with mechanical engineers and interfacing with external partner companies, vendors, and suppliers. Flexibility and adaptability are essential in this dynamic setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Darien, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
