6-Month Contract-to-Hire We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to support the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of utility-scale energy infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong electrical engineering background with experience in renewable energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), substations, transformers, power conversion systems, and critical power applications. This role serves as the technical interface between engineering, project management, procurement, construction, commissioning, customers, utilities, and equipment manufacturers. The Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring technical deliverables are completed on time, engineering risks are identified early, and projects are executed successfully from concept through commercial operation. Key Responsibilities Manage technical aspects of utility-scale renewable energy and BESS projects throughout the project lifecycle. Review and coordinate engineering deliverables, drawings, specifications, calculations, and studies.
Support design reviews involving:
Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Inverters / PCS equipment Medium-voltage substations Power transformers Switchgear and protection systems Coordinate with EPC contractors, utilities, consultants, and equipment manufacturers. Track engineering deliverables and resolve technical issues affecting project schedule or cost. Support equipment FATs, SATs, commissioning activities, and field troubleshooting.
Review electrical studies including:
Protection coordination Short circuit analysis Arc flash studies Load flow analysis Grounding studies Provide technical support during customer meetings and design review sessions. Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations and equipment selection. Travel to project sites, vendor facilities, and customer meetings as required (approximately 20-30%). Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required. Experience 3-8 years of engineering experience. Experience in at least one of the following: Project Engineering Electrical Engineering Power Systems Engineering Renewable Energy Engineering Utility Engineering Substation Design Technical Knowledge Electrical power systems. Medium-voltage equipment. Transformers.

NEC, IEEE, UL, NFPA
