PATENT ASSOCIATE JOB DESCRIPTION
Title Patent Associate
  • Software / Computer / Electrical Engineering | Mid-Level Status Full-Time; FLSA
  • Exempt; Flexible hybrid work schedule (on-site / remote) Description Leason Ellis is seeking a mid-level patent associate with 5+ years of patent drafting and patent prosecution experience with software and/or computer engineering work to join our dynamic patent practice group! The successful candidate must have the demonstrated ability to:
  • evaluate, understand, and clearly describe inventions in electrical and computer-implemented technologies, including computer systems, cloud and distributed computing, wireless communications, mobile technologies, networking, and software, as well as artificial intelligence technologies (e.
g., machine learning, neural networks, and Internet of Things), and cybersecurity technologies (e.g., encryption, authentication, access control, and secure data processing).
  • interpret and describe technical materials used to disclose electrical and computer-implemented inventions, including circuit schematics, block diagrams, system architecture diagrams, data-flow diagrams, signal-flow diagrams, user-interface drawings, and related technical illustrations comprehend and follow through with colleague and client-driven instructions work both independently and in collaboration with other team members effectively prioritize workload in concert with team members to meet client deadlines Duties and Responsibilities patent drafting and prosecution to obtain, renew, defend and enforce compiling technical arguments verbal and written interactions with team members, USPTO examiners and clients regarding all phases of patent prosecution Qualifications and Requirements Solid 5+ years of patent prosecution and drafting experience with software and/or computer engineering work B.
S. or M.S. in computer engineering, computer science and/or electrical engineering Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to articulate clearly and effectively in verbal and written communications Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and communicate re: deadlines Ability to comprehend and follow through with assignments and deadlines Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
