Pay:
$48-52 Per hour DOE The Project Engineer will support the planning, design, procurement, and execution of capital projects for power generation and heavy industrial facilities. This role is responsible for coordinating engineering, construction, and stakeholder activities to deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. Key Responsibilities Support project initiation, scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and execution of capital projects. Coordinate engineering design, procurement activities, construction specifications, and contractor bid processes. Work with stakeholders to evaluate project alternatives, develop cost estimates, and determine project feasibility and return on investment. Monitor project progress, budgets, schedules, and compliance requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare project reports, presentations, and status updates for management. Provide technical support during engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project closeout phases. Ensure compliance with company standards, safety requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Project Types Projects may include:
Major maintenance projects involving boilers, turbines, environmental systems, electrical switchgear, controls, ductwork, and fans. Infrastructure upgrades and replacements involving water treatment systems, piping, compressors, roadways, conveyors, seawalls, and facility improvements. Regulatory compliance projects related to emissions, environmental systems, security infrastructure, and safety improvements. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (all disciplines considered). 3-7 years of experience in a project engineering, construction management, or project management environment. Experience supporting capital projects valued at $500K or greater. Knowledge of project management and/or construction management principles. Experience working in a project-driven environment. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Industry Experience Experience in one or more of the following industries: Power Generation Utilities (Transmission, Distribution, Renewable Energy, Energy Storage) Oil & Gas Gas Storage and Pipelines Municipal Utilities Wastewater Treatment Heavy Industrial Manufacturing Chemical Processing Industrial Facilities Maintenance Industrial or Commercial Construction Major Infrastructure Projects (Roads, Bridges, Waterways) Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) License (Michigan preferred) PMP or CAPM Certification
