Job Description
Where You Will Work Our office is located in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans, Louisiana. Employees in New Orleans mostly follow a hybrid schedule where they are required to work in office, attend in-person meetings or training and may also collaborate virtually. New Orleans is a popular tourist destination known for its rich history, architecture, cultural arts, music, and cuisine. Many great hotels, galleries, restaurants, and museums are a short walk from the office. ## What You Will Do Under general supervision, plan, organize, manage, and execute designated electrical engineering projects and programs, ensuring successful completion of all phases within appropriate time and cost parameters. Perform and oversee execution of engineering design tasks for assigned projects, including modeling, calculations, drawings, and specifications while maintaining accurate design records throughout the project life cycle. Develop, prepare, and review technical documentation and reports supporting design decisions and project requirements. In this role, participate in project meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate engineering solutions into overall project plans. Conduct design reviews and evaluate vendor proposals to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company requirements. As a Senior Engineer of Electrical Projects, you utilize engineering software and tools to model, simulate, and analyze design components and assist in resolving technical issues during construction and commissioning phases. You continuously improve design processes and contribute to knowledge sharing within the project office and perform other duties as requested. ## What You Bring To Freeport
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline and five (5) years related experience in engineering or a related scientific field, OR
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline and three (3) years related experience in engineering or a related scientific field ## Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with applicable industry standards and Electrical engineering design criteria
- Skilled in developing Electrical deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, Power and Control Plans, Cable Tray and Lighting layouts, Cable Schedules, Equipment Datasheets, Bills of Material (BOMs), and Engineering Work Packages (EWPs)
- Experience developing and contributing to development of scoping documents, P6 schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and estimates
- Experience interfacing with database design software Broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Ability to research and analyze complex information and draw valid conclusions
- Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written, including the ability to actively listen and to adapt behavior and communication style based upon the audience
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
- Experience supervising, evaluating, training, and motivating employees
- Experience in a capital project design office
- Experience with mining and metallurgical process facilities
- Advanced degree and/or Professional Engineering (PE) Certification What We Offer You The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $105,000 - $145,000.
