Job Description
Job Summary A global engineering and design organization is hiring an Electrical Engineer to support electric power generation projects through development support, conceptual design, and owner's engineer services. This role involves performing technical evaluations of utility-scale thermal power projects, conducting engineering design reviews, and supporting project economic analysis, risk assessments, and contract development. The position follows a hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office and offers opportunities for domestic and international travel. Responsibilities Provide development support and conceptual design for electric power generation projects Perform technical evaluations of electric power generation projects and facilities Deliver owner's engineer services, including engineering design reviews and technical due diligence Support project economic and cost analysis, risk assessments, and contract development Conduct detailed reviews of medium voltage electrical system designs for thermal power projects Collaborate with clients to evaluate and optimize technical, commercial, environmental, and financial aspects of projects Travel domestically and internationally as required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program with a strong academic background 7 or more years of experience in the electric power industry Experience in detailed design of medium voltage electrical systems for utility-scale thermal power projects, including: Simple cycle gas turbines Combined cycle projects Coal-fired generation Reciprocating engines (RICE) Experience in development support and conceptual design of thermal power projects Excellent technical communication and writing skills Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship Preferred Qualifications Experience in technical due diligence and owner's engineering design reviews of thermal power projects General understanding of power station operations and performance reviews General understanding of process design at electric power generation facilities Experience with economic analysis, cost analysis, and contract development Familiarity with international design codes and standards
