- 32 hours per week Duties Deliver engaging classroom instruction on electrical theory, circuitry, wiring techniques, and industry standards.
Develop and update curriculum materials to align with current industry practices and certifications. Supervise hands-on training in labs or workshops involving electrical repairs, HVAC/R systems, automotive diagnostics, plumbing, welding, and maintenance tasks. Instruct students on the use of tools and equipment related to electrical work, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and Blackboard learning management systems. Ensure compliance with safety regulations such as OSHA by teaching proper safety procedures during all practical activities. Assess student progress through tests, projects, and practical demonstrations; provide constructive feedback to support their growth. Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and certifications; prepare reports on student performance as needed. Experience Proven experience working with electrical systems across various sectors such as manufacturing, construction, aerospace maintenance, or HVAC/R. Strong background in mechanical knowledge related to automotive repair, aircraft maintenance, plumbing, welding, or general maintenance work. Prior teaching or training experience in adult education settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), HVAC systems (including HVAC/R), automotive diagnostics, and electrical troubleshooting techniques. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices for industrial environments. Experience developing curriculum content that incorporates technical skills like electrical wiring diagrams and industry-specific software tools such as Blackboard. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly while fostering an engaging learning atmosphere.
