Job Description

- Provide engineering support to maintenance and operations across the department including restoring flow during breakdowns and developing preventative maintenance systems (including during the off shift)
- Troubleshoot equipment and process problems to root cause, providing engineered solutions to these problems
- Manage large equipment rebuilds
- development, justification, management, and implementation of these projects
- Develop into the technical equipment expertise for the department and provide technical leadership
- Support the department's Quality, Safety, and Environmental goals
- All other tasks and duties as assigned.
Skills:
You have: (required)- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college/university
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an electrical engineering field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with working knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles
- Electrical control
- Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Exceptional Candidates also have:
(preferred)- Experience with ladder logic and programming/troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), Rockwell and Allen Bradley PLC experience is preferred
- Experience specifying, installing, and troubleshooting DC and AC motor drives systems.
- Experience with networking equipment, installation, troubleshooting and commissioning. (ideally as it pertains to Automation Communication).
- Experience with power distribution systems.
- Manufacturing experience in the metals or similar industry, with aluminum rolling or processing preferred.
- Experience with rolling mills and mill controls, shears, strip processing and coiling, metal process furnaces or casting equipment
- Technical knowledge to support the installation, operation, and repair of electrical controls and automation technology
- Previous experience with data acquisition systems and data analytics
- Experience developing business justifications for capital investments, with a strong emphasis on project management and execution
- Strong written and oral communications skills.
- Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college/university Trillium has been recruiting and placing professionals for over 30 years.
