This role serves as a dedicated technical resource focused on maximizing equipment uptime, improving asset reliability, reducing downtime, and driving operational excellence. Working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Continuous Improvement teams, the Converting E&I Technician will lead troubleshooting efforts, support maintenance strategies, and implement solutions that improve safety, quality, productivity, and equipment performance. Key Responsibilities Safety & Operational Excellence Champion a safety-first culture and support environmental compliance initiatives. Assist in resolving issues impacting safety, quality, production, and operational performance. Conduct electrical safety inspections and support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) compliance. Promote housekeeping standards and proper PPE usage. Equipment Reliability & Performance Serve as the electrical and instrumentation technical expert for the Converting department. Troubleshoot, repair, modify, and optimize processing and production equipment. Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Breakdown Elimination activities. Drive improvements that increase uptime, reliability, and asset availability. Support operators and maintenance teams with equipment troubleshooting and recovery efforts. Maintenance Strategy & Planning Develop, improve, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Utilize SAP to create, prioritize, plan, schedule, and execute work orders. Analyze equipment failures and recommend corrective actions. Plan maintenance activities during shutdowns and scheduled outages. Coordinate maintenance work with employees, contractors, and vendors as needed. Manage work order backlogs and support weekly maintenance planning. Continuous Improvement Lead and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and Top Improvement Projects. Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for optimization. Generate and track KPIs to measure reliability and maintenance effectiveness. Utilize data and systems including
SAP, AVEVA
Historian, and Parsec TrakSYS (or equivalent) to support decision-making. Participate in long-term reliability and capital improvement projects. Technical Support & Documentation Support electricians, instrumentation technicians, and operations teams with technical expertise. Assist with capital project implementation and equipment installations. Maintain equipment records, documentation, and asset information within SAP. Train and support maintenance software users when needed. Share technical knowledge and best practices across the maintenance team. Qualifications Required Current Converting E&I Technician in good standing regarding attendance, safety, performance, and conduct. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of converting equipment and manufacturing processes. Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. Experience utilizing SAP or other computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization. Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and drive results. Flexibility to support business needs, including participation in on-call coverage and emergency response activities. Preferred Experience with reliability-centered maintenance practices. Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience. Experience performing Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
