Permanent EDS Engineer Our client is a globally recognised engineering and manufacturing organisation at the forefront of innovation within the off-highway vehicle industry. Renowned for designing and producing world-class machinery, they continue to invest heavily in advanced technologies, electrification and sustainable engineering solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team working on the development of next-generation products that are shaping the future of the industry. Key Responsibilities As an EDS Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing electrical systems for future vehicle platforms, ensuring they meet the performance, safety and reliability standards expected in demanding off-highway environments. Designing and developing 12V, 24V and high-voltage (up to 600V) electrical systems for heavy-duty vehicles. Creating and maintaining vehicle wiring harnesses using CAD tools such as Zuken E3 and Siemens NX. Supporting the development of electrical and electronic system architectures. Specifying electrical and electronic components for vehicle applications. Applying safety-critical design principles throughout the development lifecycle. Planning and carrying out testing and validation of electrical systems and components. Producing technical specifications, engineering standards and installation documentation. Conducting electrical system and installation reviews to ensure compliance with engineering and legislative standards. Building and maintaining development and validation rigs. Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver innovative vehicle solutions. Qualifications & Experience A minimum HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related engineering discipline. Experience in automotive, commercial vehicle or off-highway electrical system design. A strong understanding of vehicle electrical architectures, wiring harnesses and electrical distribution systems. Experience with electrical diagnostics, fault finding and circuit analysis. Knowledge of vehicle legislation and engineering standards across UK, European and international markets. Experience with Zuken E3 and Siemens NX is desirable but not essential. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. A proactive approach and a passion for developing innovative engineering solutions.
