Direct Hire Instrumentation & Controls Engineer | Ogden, UT Looking for a stable career instead of just another job? Nexeo Staffing is hiring an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to support large-scale industrial and facility operations in Ogden, Utah. This role focuses on designing, integrating, and maintaining complex control systems that support critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in control systems design, instrumentation development, and technical documentation within industrial or manufacturing environments. This position offers competitive compensation, growth opportunities, and a 9x80 schedule with every other Friday off. Responsibilities Design and develop instrumentation and control systems that meet project and industry standards. Create and review P&IDs, logic diagrams, block diagrams, and instrument data sheets using AutoCAD. Develop detailed control system designs for facility utilities, including HVAC, lighting, and power systems. Maintain and update instrument indexes, I/O lists, and control system specifications. Evaluate and approve vendor submittals to ensure compliance with technical requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve seamless design integration. Support system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting during implementation. Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and engineering standards. Manage project deliverables, timelines, and technical documentation with precision. Qualifications 10+ years of experience in control systems design, instrumentation, or facility systems engineering. High school diploma or GED with 15+ years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications. Strong understanding of control systems codes, standards, and industry best practices. Excellent communication, documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.Preferred:
EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license. Experience with SpecsIntact, SmartPlant 3D, and SmartSketch. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles related to control system design. Experience supporting large-scale industrial, manufacturing, utility, or infrastructure projects.
