Full-time, On-site About the Role We are seeking an experienced Data Center Facility Operations Expert to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mission-critical data center infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on technical expertise in at least one of the following areas: Electrical systems HVAC and mechanical systems Controls and building automation systems This position is responsible for monitoring critical infrastructure, coordinating maintenance activities, responding to facility incidents, supporting operational improvements, and providing technical guidance to on-site teams and vendors. This is a critical-facilities position focused on power, cooling, and building controls. It is not a server or IT help-desk role. Key Responsibilities Monitor, operate, inspect, and troubleshoot critical data center electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and controls systems. Perform routine facility inspections and identify abnormal equipment conditions, alarms, operational risks, and maintenance requirements. Respond to critical facility alarms and incidents, support service restoration, and participate in root cause analysis. Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for critical infrastructure. Review and execute operational procedures, including SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs. Coordinate maintenance, repairs, testing, commissioning, and system upgrades with vendors, contractors, and internal teams. Review equipment status, maintenance records, operating logs, alarm history, and system performance data. Support electrical and mechanical switching activities in accordance with approved procedures and safety requirements. Monitor facility systems through BMS, EPMS, DCIM, SCADA, or similar platforms. Ensure all work complies with LOTO, EHS, OSHA, NFPA, site safety, and change-management requirements. Review technical drawings, equipment manuals, single-line diagrams, control diagrams, and Sequences of Operations. Support capacity planning, system reliability, energy efficiency, and operational-readiness initiatives. Provide technical guidance, training, and troubleshooting support to facility technicians. Maintain accurate incident reports, maintenance documentation, shift records, and technical procedures. Participate in emergency response, scheduled maintenance, and after-hours support when required. Required Qualifications Associate degree, technical diploma, bachelor's degree, or equivalent professional experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Building Automation, Industrial Controls, Facilities Engineering, or a related field. At least five years of experience in critical facilities, data centers, industrial plants, central utility plants, hospitals, laboratories, telecommunications facilities, or other mission-critical environments. Strong hands-on expertise in at least one of the following technical areas: Electrical UPS systems and battery systems Diesel generators and fuel systems ATS/STS Switchgear, transformers, PDUs, and RPPs Medium- and low-voltage power distribution Electrical redundancy, switching, and troubleshooting HVAC and Mechanical Chillers and cooling towers

Familiarity with LOTO, electrical safety, change management, permit-to-work, and critical-facility safety procedures. Strong communication, documentation, vendor-coordination, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work full-time on-site in Ashburn, Virginia. Ability to provide emergency, on-call, or after-hours support when required. Legal authorization to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Previous data center or hyperscale critical-facility experience. Experience leading technicians, contractors, or maintenance teams. Experience with commissioning, functional testing, SAT, or integrated systems testing. Familiarity with NFPA 70E, OSHA, ASHRAE, and critical-facility operating standards. Relevant certifications in electrical systems, HVAC, stationary engineering, building automation, controls, or data center operations.
