Project Engineer (Rail Systems / Electrical & Controls)
Location :

Full-time, Diret-hire but project-base for 2-3 years

$123,400 - $137,800 annually About the Opportunity A leading engineering and operations company is seeking a
  • Project Engineer
  • to support the operation, maintenance, testing, commissioning, and continuous improvement of advanced rail and automated transportation systems. This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with experience in
  • rail signaling, train control, electrical systems, industrial automation, or mission-critical infrastructure
  • who enjoy solving complex technical problems in the field.
Key Responsibilities Support the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of rail and automated transportation systems Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues to ensure safe and reliable system performance Coordinate with operations, maintenance, contractors, vendors, and engineering teams during project execution Review electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and engineering documentation Support preventive maintenance, system upgrades, and equipment modifications Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for system failures Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards Prepare technical reports and project documentation Preferred Background Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable: Rail Transit or Passenger Rail Automated People Mover (APM)
  • Train Control & Signaling CBTC, ATC, ATP, Interlocking, Wayside Systems
  • Industrial Automation Material Handling / Conveyor Systems Power Distribution or Electrical Systems Field Service Engineering Commissioning & Startup Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline 3+ years of engineering experience in transportation, industrial automation, or related industries Hands-on experience with testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, startup, or field engineering Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Preferred Qualifications Experience with any of the following is a plus: Rail signaling or train control systems CBTC, ATP, ATS, ATC, ETCS, PTC, or Interlocking systems PLC, HMI, SCADA, industrial networking, or control systems FAT, SAT, Site Acceptance Testing, or system integration Electrical power systems, switchgear, UPS, or battery systems
