Job Description

Virginia Controls, LLC designs and manufactures a wide range of elevator controllers and related control products. We are seeking a motivated, electrically inclined individual to join our growing Engineering team in an entry-level role with significant on-the-job training. Experienced applicants are also encouraged to apply and may be fast-tracked through onboarding based on their background and demonstrated capabilities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys understanding how things work, solving technical problems, and continuously learning. A traditional 4-year engineering degree is encouraged, but not strictly required. Relevant experience, technical training, military background, hobby electronics experience, trade skills, or demonstrated hands-on aptitude will also be strongly considered. Successful candidates can grow into advanced controls engineering, software development, hardware design, or technical leadership roles within the company. Required Qualifications
  • Working understanding of AC and DC electrical circuits with hands-on experience
  • Strong reading comprehension and attention to detail
  • Good computer skills and comfort learning technical software
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and CAD software
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Persistent mindset and willingness to work through unfamiliar technical challenges Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong competency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Technical writing skills
  • IT or networking skills
  • PCB Design
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Technical support experience
  • ERP and Database skills
  • PLCs or industrial automation experience
  • Hands-on electrical, industrial, automotive, or hobby projects In This Role, You Will
  • Learn how elevator control systems are designed and manufactured
  • Adapt and reconfigure existing electrical circuits for new applications using VC's extensive design library
  • Contribute new circuits and improvements to internal design standards
  • Assist with hardware and software configuration of control systems
  • Use AutoCAD in the electrical design and production of controllers
  • Interface with Manufacturing, Sales, and Field Technicians to help resolve complex technical issues
  • Work as part of a small but growing engineering team involved in a wide range of projects
