Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team. The candidate will specify, design, program, test, implement, and troubleshoot electrical components, equipment, and systems for industrial, military, or scientific use. Duties Power and Control System Design and Implementation
  • Prepare specifications for design, acquisition, and maintenance of electrical components and systems.
  • Design and modify wiring diagrams/schematics and control panel layout drawings.
  • Analyze facility power distribution and protection systems (including switchgear and busway) and facilitate additions thereto.
  • Write and install programs to control a variety of equipment including Programmable Logic Controllers, Human-Machine Interfaces, Variable Frequency Drives, robots, and servos.
  • Lead the electrical integration of new equipment or processes.
  • Evaluate existing equipment and systems and make recommendations for performance, reliability, safety, and diagnostic improvements.
  • Strengthen equipment reliability by designing and implementing modern and safe updates to obsolete controls and systems.
  • Understand and enforce applicable electrical, controls, and safety codes and regulations. Support and Troubleshooting
  • Work with and provide guidance to in-house electricians, maintenance personnel, machine operators, and occasionally IT personnel to implement, diagnose, and repair plant manufacturing and support equipment including conveyance, presses, CNCs, boilers, air compressors, HVAC equipment, and other specialized equipment.
  • Work with a variety of software and hardware to monitor "online" status of control systems for data analysis or troubleshooting purposes.
  • Employ the use of a multimeter or other electrical tools to analyze, test, and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Develop diagnostic procedures for troubleshooting equipment.
  • Provide occasional evening or weekend troubleshooting support when urgent or necessary. Project Management and Collaboration
  • Collect quotations, develop project budgets and timelines, and write purchase requisitions for materials and equipment.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors and internal production personnel to safely and efficiently complete installation and maintenance work.
  • Work with production, quality, and engineering on continuous improvement and "6S" projects.
  • Update, review and develop operating procedures when applicable.
  • Promote safety, good housekeeping, and emergency response procedures.
  • Foster a positive and professional working environment for all employees.
Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Must have the ability to read and understand electrical schematics, electrical code manuals, ladder-logic programs, and other manufacturing instructions. Must possess excellent problem solving skills. Requires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with other employees.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
