One contractor will work in Tempe, AZ and the other in Tolleson, AZ. Both will be 100% onsite to start.

Contract Length:

12 months to start, likely to extend

Pay:

$34.00

•$40.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Travel:

Daily driving within PHX metro area, 50%

•75% daily

•3:30pm PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Design Consultant to manage complex electrical distribution designs from concept through construction. In this role, you'll serve as the central point of coordination between engineering, construction teams, developers, contractors, municipalities, and customers to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient electrical distribution solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys project ownership, stakeholder engagement, fieldwork, and technical design coordination within the utility, electrical, or infrastructure industry. What You'll Do Electrical Distribution Design Develop and manage electrical distribution designs throughout the project lifecycle. Create safe, efficient designs that meet customer requirements and company standards.

Review and interpret:

Electrical plans Architectural drawings Civil plans Structural documents Geographic and survey information Perform field reviews to validate design requirements and site conditions. Project Coordination & Stakeholder Management Coordinate with: Engineering teams Construction personnel Land agents Surveyors Developers Contractors Municipal agencies Property owners Serve as the primary liaison throughout the design process.

Manage expectations regarding:

Scope Schedule Costs Deliverables Safety requirements CAD & Design Support Work closely with CAD Technicians to develop final design packages. Provide initial design sketches and project requirements. Review completed drawings for accuracy and compliance. Monitor progress and establish priorities and deadlines. Project Management & Permitting Manage project schedules and milestones. Assign and track due dates for internal and external deliverables. Utilize work management systems to document project activities and maintain compliance. Support municipal permitting and approval processes. Incorporate utility standards, land rights requirements, and permit requirements into designs. Cost Estimating & Construction Support Prepare material inventories required for construction. Determine design and construction fees in accordance with company policies. Prepare design and construction agreements and contracts. Resolve hazards, encroachments, and design challenges. Provide project history and design documentation when requested. Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of related experience (Entry Level) 4+ years of related experience preferred for Level II positions Experience supporting: Utility design Electrical distribution systems Construction design Infrastructure projects Related engineering environments Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plan sets. Understanding of CAD tools and design processes. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications Experience in:

Electric utility operations Distribution design Infrastructure development Construction project coordination

Knowledge of:

Electrical distribution systems Conductors and electrical components Municipal permitting requirements Utility engineering standards Construction processes Experience working with developers, municipalities, and consulting engineers. Familiarity with project management and work management systems. Pay Details:
