Full Job Description Description of Duties:

The Facilities BIM Technician supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

The candidate will:

Support the Engineering Design team and BIM modeler/drafters on the drafting/3D modeling efforts of new and existing building infrastructure: o Architecture o Mechanical o Electrical o Plumbing o Fire systems Support efforts will be following current engineering codes and principles, relevant specifications, and customer requirements. Independently update existing BIM files using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD software as directed. Gather and submit quarterly, bi-yearly, and yearly BIM documentation as directed. Conduct site surveys to confirm drawing accuracy, and to make appropriate updates to reflect site conditions as required. Assist in the documentation of building systems upgrades, repairs, and remodeling projects. Assist the Design team in documenting design changes that occur during project implementation to ensure the final "as-built" drawings incorporate design changes. The BIM Technician will assist during project/construction closeout by working closely with the project team members to ensure all actions pertaining to drawings and support documentation are completed within project specific deadlines. Prepare drawing submittals for Facilities projects.

Basic Requirements:

Must have 4, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience o May be reduced with completion of advanced education Must have 2, or more, years of directly related experience Must have a basic understanding of building infrastructure systems. Must have experience using computer aided drafting (CAD) and/or modeling applications. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Programs. Must be comfortable with reading equipment details and building drawings. Must be able to climb ladders. Must be able to lift 40lbs. Must be able to work below raised floors/restrictive spaces. Must have, or obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Desired Requirements:

Have experience in Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and/or Electrical design for construction. Have work experience within DOD environments. Be experienced with Autodesk Revit and/or AutoCAD. Be familiar with engineering/design codes and principles.
