In Person Salary Range:
$24 - $29/hour The MEP Intern supports the engineering team in preparing design and construction documents, coordinating details, and resolving general M/E/P and sustainable design issues. This role offers hands-on experience in drafting, engineering calculations, and research to identify and address conflicts within design documents, providing valuable exposure to M/E/P systems in a construction environment.
Responsibilities / Essential
Functions Assist in the preparation of design and construction documents, addressing general M/E/P and sustainable design challenges.
Review and coordinate details and dimensions to ensure accuracy and constructability.
Perform basic drafting tasks and compile engineering data from prescribed sources.
Research and recommend solutions for design document issues, including conflicts, interferences, and errors.
Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and project teams to integrate M/E/P systems seamlessly within overall project plans.
Support the review and revision of drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with industry codes and project requirements.
Assist in maintaining accurate project documentation to support project management, quality assurance, and regulatory adherence.

Required Experience
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (M/E/P) systems and sustainable design principles.
Proficiency with design and drafting software such as AutoCAD or Revit (preferred).
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and design documents.
Analytical skills to identify and resolve design conflicts and interferences.
Competence in compiling and analyzing engineering data.
Familiarity with sustainable design concepts and building codes.
