Warrenville, IL Job Details 1 day ago Qualifications Associate of Applied Science Substation design Associate's degree in drafting Associate's degree Full Job Description ENTRUST is hiring for a Senior Substation Designer. This position is responsible for reviewing project specifications; conferring with customers and engineers concerning assistance required to collect data and develop projects from initial stages to final engineered substation projects. Tasks include coordinating project related tasks with drafters, preparing plans, evaluating of field conditions, field verifications, design changes, and reports, including client revenue and cost projections. Senior Designers survey project sites to obtain and analyze topographical details of sites, using maps and surveying equipment. Drafts detailed dimensional drawings including at times two-line and 3D drawings as required for completion of substation and associated projects, to determine conformance of site to design specifications may be required.
What You'll Do:
Create detailed design plans for medium and high-voltage substations Develop electrical schematics , wiring diagrams , and layout drawings Use CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD , Revit ) to produce technical drawings
Required Qualifications:
An Associate of Applied Science degree (AAS) in Design and Drafting Technology Strong working knowledge of AutoCad or Microstation software Ten years prior experience preferred in substation design. Ability to perform civil design drafting in a 3D environment is a plus Knowledge of SmallWorld and/or
ESRI GIS
