Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a PLC Controls Engineer to support the design, development, programming, integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automated industrial machinery and manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems, industrial networking, drives, machine controls, and electrical control systems. Key Responsibilities Design and develop PLC-based control systems for automated machinery and manufacturing equipment. Program and modify Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and/or Siemens PLC systems. Develop and configure HMI applications for machine operation, diagnostics, alarms, and monitoring. Integrate PLCs with VFDs, servo drives, sensors, actuators, safety systems, and other automation devices. Develop machine sequencing, interlocks, alarms, and control logic. Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks such as EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and Modbus. Interpret electrical schematics, control-panel drawings, wiring diagrams, and I/O documentation. Perform equipment testing, FAT, SAT, startup, commissioning, and field troubleshooting. Diagnose PLC, HMI, drive, communication, sensor, and machine-control issues. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, maintenance, robotics, and engineering teams. Support new machine development, equipment modifications, retrofits, and controls upgrades. Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment issues. Maintain PLC programs, HMI applications, control documentation, backups, and technical records. Support production teams during equipment deployment and post-commissioning activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Hands-on experience with PLC programming and industrial automation. Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell or Siemens PLC platforms. Knowledge of
HMI/SCADA
systems. Understanding of VFDs, motors, sensors, actuators, and industrial control equipment. Ability to read electrical schematics and control-panel documentation. Experience troubleshooting automated machinery and manufacturing equipment. Understanding of industrial communication protocols. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Studio 5000 / RSLogix. Experience with Siemens TIA Portal. FactoryTalk View, Ignition, or WinCC experience. Experience with servo/motion control. Robotics integration experience. Experience with FAT/SAT and machine commissioning. Knowledge of machine safety and industrial standards. Experience with machinery OEMs, system integrators, or industrial equipment manufacturers.
