Job Title:
Revit Modeler Job Description Join a growing Building Information Modeling (BIM) team as a Revit Modeler, where you will create detailed 3D models of electrical systems for new and existing commercial buildings. You will support large and complex projects, such as hospitals and power plants, by coordinating electrical designs with other building systems and producing accurate pre-fabrication drawings for field installation. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a department that is actively expanding and investing in advanced BIM capabilities. Responsibilities Develop accurate and detailed 3D BIM models of electrical systems for new and existing commercial buildings using Revit. Coordinate electrical system models with Architectural, Structural, HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems to ensure fully integrated designs. Participate in weekly coordination meetings with other disciplines to resolve clashes and design conflicts within the BIM environment. Prepare pre-fabrication drawings and layouts for field installation using AutoCAD and Revit, ensuring constructability and clarity for field teams. Support the electrical design process by translating design intent into detailed models and drawings suitable for construction. Collaborate closely with the pre-fabrication department to ensure models and drawings align with fabrication and installation requirements. Apply knowledge of construction practices and electrical design to improve model accuracy and efficiency. Use Navisworks and other modeling tools to review, coordinate, and validate BIM models for constructability and clash detection. Maintain organized digital files and documentation for models, drawings, and coordination updates. Contribute to the continuous improvement of BIM standards, workflows, and best practices within the department. Work collaboratively with another BIM modeler and project teams to meet deadlines and project milestones. Essential Skills Proficiency in Revit for 3D modeling of building systems, preferably with a focus on electrical systems. Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating detailed drawings and pre-fabrication layouts. Strong computer skills and ability to work efficiently with BIM and CAD software. Experience with Navisworks for model coordination and clash detection. Understanding of construction processes and how electrical systems integrate into commercial building projects. Ability to coordinate models with multiple disciplines, including Architectural, Structural, HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection. Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and organized models and drawings. Effective communication skills to participate in coordination meetings and collaborate with project teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Electrical drafting experience is a plus. Experience working on complex projects such as hospitals, power plants, or other large commercial facilities is beneficial. Familiarity with BIM workflows and standards in an electrical contracting or construction environment. Ability to work collaboratively within a small, growing BIM team and contribute to process improvements. Work Environment You will work within a dedicated BIM department that is actively growing and receiving significant investment, providing strong opportunities for professional development and impact. The team currently includes one other BIM modeler and collaborates closely with the pre-fabrication department and field installation teams. Projects include large and complex facilities such as hospitals, power plants, and other commercial buildings, offering exposure to sophisticated electrical systems and multidisciplinary coordination. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
