- Location
- This position can be based in any of the following office locations: Lenexa, KS; Lone Tree, CO; Houston, TX; Raleigh, NC; Phoenix/Tempe, AZ; New York City, NY; or Woodcliff Lake, NJ. For roles in Chattanooga, TN; Detroit, MI; or Richmond, VA, the position will start remotely and transition to a hybrid/in office arrangement once the new office is established.
- Responsibilities
- Design cable tray, grounding and lighting systems from concept to completion
- Perform calculations to size and check allowable fill in conduits and cable tray systems according to NEC requirements
- Routes electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate a cable schedule
- Perform layout of electrical equipment in electrical buildings
- Develops 3D models utilizing drawings, sketches, and design skills
- Checks and navigates in the 3D models for interferences and constructability
- Perform calculations to size pull boxes according to NEC requirements
- Design and draft intermediate electrical drawings
- Little to no supervision required to apply standard correctly to design
- Initiates development of personal objectives aligned with those of the organization
- Performs assigned work efficiently and effectively to maximize person productivity
- Complies with company standards to produce quality deliverables
- Completes miscellaneous tasks to support project development
- Participates in project meetings as required
- Qualifications
- At least 5 years' experience in electrical design
- Power Generation experience preferred
- Experience in SmartPlant 3D
- Experience in AutoCAD or MicroStation
- Experience designing cable tray from concept to completion
- Experience in grounding systems
- Experience utilizing the NEC
- Must be able to conceptualize in a 3D environment
- Ability to work in a growing, adaptive and multi-discipline team environment
- Ability to work independently with limited direction and oversight
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English language \#LI-SM1
