This position plays a critical role in collaborating with internal teams and clients to create safe, efficient, and cost-effective electrical designs. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of electrical design principles, technical software proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design electrical systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, retail, and mixed-use projects Develop and revise detailed electrical drawings using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and related design tools Deliver accurate, code-compliant designs on time and within budget Perform electrical calculations, including load, voltage drop, short circuit, and lighting photometric analysis Collaborate with estimators, project managers, engineers, and other designers to ensure project alignment Apply advanced technical knowledge to make decisions impacting system design, safety, and project outcomes Participate in client meetings to clarify project requirements, present design concepts, and provide status updates Ensure compliance with NEC and local codes, including reviewing submittals and researching regulatory requirements Exercise independent judgment in developing design solutions, interpreting codes, and resolving complex electrical design issues Communicate project timelines, risks, and budget impacts to internal stakeholders and clients Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities High attention to detail with commitment to accuracy and quality Effective time management in a deadline-driven environment Proficient in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Office Strong understanding of electrical wiring, schematics, and system design methodologies Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments Experience interpreting electrical schematics and system design documentation Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Regular, predictable attendance is required Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical design, electrical engineering, or a related field Minimum of 5 years of electrical design experience, including power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems Strong knowledge of NEC and applicable local building codes Experience designing fire alarm systems preferred Physical demands & work environment: Primarily office-based with occasional site visits Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods May occasionally lift up to 25 lbs., and perform bending, stooping, or kneeling Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions
