Full Job Description Description:
Renu Commercial is seeking a qualified AutoCAD Drafter to support its commercial solar design and interconnection department, preparing and revising working drawings, array layouts, and installation diagrams for three-phase commercial photovoltaic projects under the review and approval of the Director of Commercial Design and Interconnection. Key Responsibilities Prepare and revise AutoCAD working drawings, including array layouts and installation diagrams, for use as field instructions by the installation team. Produce site plans, roof plans, electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, construction details, and elevations for three-phase commercial PV projects. Compile structural attachment and layout data for submission to the structural engineer of record to support timely sign-off ahead of permitting. Interpret input from sales, operations, and field personnel to progress drawing sets independently, flagging information gaps as needed. Maintain consistent drafting standards (title blocks, layer conventions, standard details, symbol libraries) across all drawing sets. Communicate drawing status and revisions clearly to operations and field personnel, and submit all sets for review and approval before release for permitting or installation. Perform additional design or operations duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Associate's degree, technical certificate, or equivalent experience in drafting/CAD; demonstrated AutoCAD proficiency required. Experience with three-phase commercial electrical systems strongly preferred. Solar PV industry experience preferred but not required; strong CAD fundamentals and willingness to learn solar-specific conventions (NEC single-lines, racking/attachment details, interconnection drawings) will be considered. Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple deadlines with moderate independent judgment, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
