The Opportunity I'm working with an established engineering and manufacturing company in the Greater Cleveland area that is looking to add a Controls Engineer to its growing automation team. This is a hands-on role supporting the design, programming, testing, and implementation of automated equipment and control systems. You'll have the opportunity to own controls work through multiple stages of a project rather than being limited to strictly programming or maintenance. The team is looking for someone with a strong PLC/HMI background who is comfortable troubleshooting equipment but also enjoys developing and improving controls systems. There is flexibility on exact industry background, and engineers coming from custom machinery, systems integration, OEM equipment, or highly automated manufacturing environments could all translate well. What You'll Be Doing Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs for automated equipment Work primarily with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell controls platforms Support controls projects from initial design and programming through testing and implementation Develop new PLC/HMI code as well as modify and improve existing programs Troubleshoot electrical, controls, instrumentation, and equipment issues Work with VFDs, servo systems, sensors, safety devices, and other industrial controls hardware Read and develop electrical schematics, I/O drawings, and controls documentation Support equipment testing, FAT, startup, and commissioning Work with industrial networks including EtherNet/IP and other common communication protocols Partner closely with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and project engineering teams Support new equipment as well as upgrades and retrofits to existing systems What They're Looking For 3+ years of Controls, Automation, or Electrical Controls experience Strong hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience Experience with HMI development Allen-Bradley / Rockwell experience preferred, although other PLC platforms will be considered Experience working with automated machinery or industrial equipment Ability to read and troubleshoot electrical schematics Electrical design / AutoCAD Electrical experience is a plus Experience programming PLCs and HMIs from scratch is highly desirable Experience with drives, motion, robotics, instrumentation, or safety systems is a plus Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered Why Consider It? Pay:

$90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
