6-12 month contract M-F Onsite Overview We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician / Junior Electrical Designer with 2+ years of hands-on experience supporting electrical design, equipment selection, documentation, and testing. This role will work under the guidance of senior engineers to support facility power systems, industrial control panels, motor control centers, and low- and medium-voltage electrical systems. Responsibilities Support the design and layout of motor control centers (MCCs), switchboards, panelboards, and facility power systems. Create and update single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, interlock logic, and bills of material (BOMs). Assist with selecting and specifying electrical equipment, including contactors, drives, transformers, UPS systems, and grounding components. Perform basic electrical load checks, short-circuit calculations, and other electrical analyses using ETAP, EasyPower, or advanced spreadsheets under senior engineering guidance. Assist with developing and documenting protective relay settings and interlock logic for low- and medium-voltage systems. Develop panel layouts and support UL 508A compliance activities. Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT) and assist with field commissioning, troubleshooting, and equipment startup. Support hazard analyses, quality assurance activities, and regulatory audits. Ensure designs and documentation comply with applicable electrical safety codes, standards, and site procedures. Prepare technical reports, project updates, presentations, and other project documentation. Perform additional engineering and technical duties as assigned. Required Qualifications 2+ years of hands-on experience as an electrical technician, junior electrical designer, electrical engineering technician, or similar role. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Familiarity with industrial control panels, MCCs, and low-voltage power distribution systems (under 1,000 V). Ability to read and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and single-line diagrams. Basic understanding of electrical equipment, power distribution, protection, controls, and grounding. Strong technical documentation and communication skills. Preferred Skills Experience with ETAP or EasyPower. Knowledge of UL 508A requirements. Experience with MCCs, switchboards, panelboards, drives, transformers, UPS systems, and protective relays. Exposure to FATs, field commissioning, troubleshooting, and industrial electrical systems. Familiarity with electrical safety standards, hazard analysis, and quality systems.
