- Stellar Energy is a trusted provider of turnkey liquid-to-chip cooling solutions for the world's leading data center and industrial manufacturing customers.
- Summary Objective
- As a member of the technical staff, the Automation & Controls Designer is responsible for preparing technical drawings of controls systems for the design of modular TIAC (Turbine Inlet Air Cooling) Plant, CHP, Mission Critical and District Cooling Plant up to full production.
- Essential Functions
- + Collaborates with controls engineers to receive instructions and direction for the project design.

- Supervisory Responsibility
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
- Work Location
- This position will work out of our Main Office in Jacksonville, FL. This position is not approved for telecommuting or working remotely.
- Work Environment
- Most work is performed in an office environment. Regular trips to the Stellar Energy fabrication facility for observation and support may be necessary which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, steel toed shoes and mandatory head protection.
- Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
- Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional overtime effort may be requested to meet project specific deadlines.
- Travel
- Anticipated 20% travel for this position with some overnight stays. Some occasional local day travel may also be necessary.
- Required Education and Experience.
- + Minimum of two-year associate degree in drafting or related technical discipline + Experience in AutoCAD software + 4 years' experience with electrical and controls design and drafting.
- Preferred Education and Experience
- + Some experience in electronic design with electronic circuit technology assembly processes. + Experience in PLC programming preferred. + Some experience in design, repair and analysis of electronic systems with exposure to electrical and control engineering design principles and methodologies. + Knowledge of 3D software (SolidWorks or Plant 3D preferred).
