Lead Electrical Designer Job Description Join our team as a Lead Electrical Designer, where you will have the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams within the Power Providers Market Sector. Your role will involve supporting Advanced Power Generation (APG) projects and contributing to the development of critical infrastructure for today's and tomorrow's challenges. Responsibilities Function as a lead technician, technical design specialist, and/or in a supervisory role. Apply advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges within a specific engineering discipline. Contribute to the development of innovative engineering solutions. Utilize digital design tools and software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables. Ensure technical quality, schedule adherence, and budget compliance. Coordinate efforts across departments, teams, and stakeholders. Supervise engineering technicians and support staff by coordinating, overseeing, and guiding conceptual and detailed design activities. Essential Skills Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices. Experience with Bentley MicroStation and other Bentley tools. Ability to perform technical tasks with minimal supervision. Strong understanding of project budgets and schedules. Proficiency in power systems design, including duct bank design, cable tray design, grounding, and lighting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred. Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology required. Minimum of 15 years of related work experience in the power generation design industry. Experience with 3D modeling of equipment. Experience with AGI32 is preferred for lighting design. Work Environment This position requires working onsite in one of the following locations: Overland Park, Ann Arbor, Houston, Phoenix, Raleigh, Chattanooga, Chicago, Jacksonville, or Gaithersburg. The first 90 days will be in the office five days a week, transitioning to a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remote. Candidates should live within 50 miles of the specified locations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Leawood, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
