Job Description
Job Summary An engineering and design organization is hiring an Electrical Designer to support the design, modification, and upgrade of new and existing power plant electrical systems. This role works in a collaborative project team environment under the guidance of an Electrical Project Lead and offers a hybrid work schedule combining in-office and remote work. Responsibilities Support the design, modification, and upgrade of power plant electrical systems Develop electrical deliverables including: Single-line diagrams Relay and metering diagrams AC and DC schematic diagrams Synchronizing diagrams Point-to-point wiring diagrams Cable schedules Produce detailed electrical wiring drawings for construction and installation Review vendor drawings and incorporate them into the overall project design Update and produce physical design drawings based on field walkdowns Assist engineers with initial design requirements and conceptual development Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering and design teams throughout the project lifecycle Participate in frequent field walkdowns and data collection at client facilities Qualifications Required Qualifications Associate's degree in drafting, or a high school diploma with equivalent technical design experience 8 or more years of detailed wiring design experience, including single-line, relay, and metering diagrams for medium-voltage and 480V systems Experience using Bentley Raceway & Cable Management (BRCM) software Extensive MicroStation and/or AutoCAD experience on power plant or large facility projects Familiarity with digital control systems Strong understanding of drafting and design practices and theories Ability to produce clear wiring diagrams and schematics for installers and electricians Ability to conceptualize plans and details to accurately convey wiring termination requirements Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary engineering teams Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field Additional Information Hybrid work schedule with a combination of in-office and remote work Frequent travel required for field walkdowns at client facilities in Wyoming and Colorado Employment authorization sponsorship is not available for this position
