Position Summary:

System Designer I is a key technical resource for both sales and operations teams. System Designer I is responsible for actively driving and managing the evaluation and validation of systems and materials, working in conjunction with the sales and operations teams as the key technical advisor. The System Designer I must be able to articulate technology and product positioning. Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the project cycle with sales and operations. The System Designer I is responsible for the design of intrusion, security, CCTV, and card access systems in accordance with sales and operations protocols. Receives project specifications from sales representative and designs system markups. Chooses or validates appropriate mix of products and installation methods to provide the most cost-effective solution to meet the customer requirements. Acts as a technical resource to sales and operations team members. Participates in sales and operations meetings to evaluate accuracy of the sales estimate and job layout as required.

Job Responsibilities:

Work with the Sales and Technical staff to interpret project specifications and drawings, determining system layout Work with staff to interpret project specifications and drawings, determining system layout. Requires communication and coordination with other departments to resolve customer complaints or inquiries Promptly resolves questions and problems related to assigned areas raised by customers. Builds and maintains business relationships with clients by providing prompt and accurate services to promote customer loyalty Review plans where a design was prepared by others (i.e.: MEP or FPE firm) Perform takeoff and prepare counts of equipment and devices from floor plans Monitor and manage support services such as maintenance of project paperwork to include contracts, revisions, estimates, work drawing and specifications Must be able to work extended hours to support timelines. Performs other related duties as required and/or assigned

Education/Certification:

Associates degree in Electronics or other technical field or equivalent experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

Possess a working knowledge of low voltage communications systems Must demonstrate computer literacy, including such programs as

MS Word, Excel, Outlook Knowledge:

Actively participate in personal and professional development and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies that the company offers

Abilities:
