Contract About the Role We are seeking an Electrical Designer with strong AutoCAD skills to join a growing utility engineering team in Hampton, VA. This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates with AutoCAD experience and strong technical aptitude who are looking to build a career in utility design. Training will be provided on utility design standards and processes. Key Responsibilities Create and modify detailed electrical and utility design drawings using AutoCAD . Prepare construction layouts, wiring diagrams, and design documentation. Update and revise drawings based on field conditions and engineering requirements. Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with company and industry standards. Work with project teams to complete design assignments on schedule. Learn and apply utility design standards, procedures, and best practices. Maintain accurate project documentation and design files. Required Qualifications Experience using AutoCAD (required). Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Good math skills, including geometry and trigonometry . Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments. Willingness to learn utility design standards and processes. Preferred Qualifications Experience with ArcGIS , ArcFM , or GIS software. Knowledge of electrical distribution design (overhead and underground). Experience with QA/QC processes. Familiarity with utility or telecommunications design is a plus. Experience developing applications within AutoCAD is a plus.
Pay:
