Job Title:
BIM Designer / Electrical Revit DrafterJob Description This role focuses on creating high-quality electrical construction drawings and BIM models for large data center projects. You will use Revit extensively to perform redlines and markups, develop detailed construction documents, and support prefabrication efforts for electrical systems. The position is ideal for someone with electrical construction experience who enjoys technical drafting, 3D modeling, and collaborating with project teams in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
+ Produce accurate electrical construction drawings using Revit, incorporating redlines and markups from the design and project teams.
+ Create, modify, and maintain Revit families and assemblies for electrical systems and prefabricated components.
+ Assist the prefabrication team in developing shop drawings, including cross-sections of underground installations, conduits, cables, and other electrical systems for fabrication and installation crews.
+ Read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical floor plans, sections, and elevations to coordinate and integrate electrical designs.
+ Support 3D coordination efforts by modeling electrical systems and ensuring alignment with other disciplines in the project.
+ Prepare and update electrical construction documents and ensure they are consistent, complete, and compliant with project standards.
+ Collaborate closely with project coordinators and field teams to translate design intent into practical, buildable documentation.
+ Apply field experience and constructability knowledge to improve the accuracy and usability of drawings for installation crews.
+ Maintain a steady pace of high-quality work to meet project deadlines in a fast-moving construction environment. Essential Skills + 1-3+ years of experience in electrical construction or electrical design.
+ Proficiency in creating electrical construction documents, including redlines, markups, and coordinated drawings.
+ Hands-on experience with Revit, with the ability to create and manipulate Revit families and assemblies.
+ Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans, sections, and elevations.
+ Experience coordinating electrical designs with other disciplines in a construction or design environment.
+ Field experience in electrical construction, with an understanding of how drawings translate to installation in the field.
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, buildable documentation.
+ Ability to work at a steady, consistent pace while maintaining high quality standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with BIM and 3D modeling for electrical systems.
+ Background as a drafter, CAD technician, or CAD operator in electrical construction or related fields.
+ Familiarity with prefabrication processes and shop drawing production for electrical components.
+ Experience working with blueprints, 3D coordination, and cross sections of electrical systems.
+ Willingness to grow Revit skills further; training may be available for candidates with strong electrical experience and aptitude.
+ Ability to collaborate effectively with project coordinators, prefabrication teams, and field personnel.
+ Strong communication skills and the ability to integrate feedback into design and drafting work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sterling, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
