Controls Designer - Power Transformer Controls & Automation Design the Systems That Power the
Future Location:
Waukesha, WI | 100%
Work Hours:
M-F | 1st shift Are you passionate about electrical controls, automation, and engineering design? Do you thrive on solving complex technical challenges and seeing your designs come to life in manufacturing? We're looking for a Controls Designer to join our team and play a key role in designing the control systems that operate and monitor medium and large power transformers used across critical power infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to work on highly customized projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to innovative solutions that keep the world powered and connected. What You'll Do Design electrical control schematics, ladder diagrams, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using E3 by Zuken or similar ECAD software. Review customer specifications and incorporate standard and custom control solutions. Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing. Design control panels including relays, PLCs, circuit breakers, switches, terminal blocks, and other components. Support manufacturing and testing by troubleshooting designs and implementing revisions. Collaborate with customers, vendors, mechanical designers, and production teams throughout the project lifecycle. What You'll Bring Associate's Degree in Controls, Electrical Technology, or related field (or equivalent military/industry experience). 3-5+ years of controls design experience. Knowledge of relays, PLCs, circuit breakers, control panels, and industrial wiring practices. Experience with
CAD/ECAD
design tools. Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Preferred Experience with E3 by Zuken .
