Field Service Engineer Position Description:
An S.E.S. field service engineer provides field service engineering and technical assistance to customers in areas of installation, startup, maintenance, repair, training, and testing. Field Engineers are expected to self-manage assigned projects by using working knowledge of electrical test and diagnostic equipment.Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting field tests, problem solving, and writing test reports
- Maintaining substation equipment at customer facilities
- Installing and servicing electric systems and or products
- Responding to emergency after hours calls
- Ability to travel overnight and manage a variable work schedule
Desired Qualifications:
1. Proficient knowledge and understanding of substation equipment including transformers, gas circuit breakers, power circuit breakers, metal-clad or enclosed switchgear, protective relays, power cables, substation equipment, motor control centers, medium voltage control, excitation equipment, automatic transfer switches, grounding systems, rotating equipment and associated drives 2. 3-5 years experience desired 3. Proficient at computer software including but not limited to Word, Excel, Powerpoint 4. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills using various communication systems 5. B.S. degree in electrical or mechanical engineering (other fields of engineering may be acceptable) 6. Experience testing electrical distribution and protection equipment.Desired Skills:
- NETA Certification
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
- Stable work history and strong work ethic
