Since 1988 we have been applying technology to better the workplace. We place great value in the work our people do and in the difference their efforts make in people's lives. We are seeking an energetic, highly-motivated, qualified CCNP-certified Audio Visual Network Engineer to support a dynamic government museum customer primarily in downtown Washington, DC. This position is foundational to the reliability of exhibition and AV operations. Success is measured not just by uptime, but by the engineer's ability to make complex systems understandable, defensible, and stable—so that creative, educational, and visitor‑facing experiences can operate reliably at scale.
Characteristics we seek:
  • High energy and motivation to be fully engaged
  • OUTSTANDING oral (in person/phone) and written communication skills, including an ability to deal with people at various levels, from technician- to vendor to executive with strong ability to build rapport and relationships
  • High level of organization and project management skills
  • Tremendous attention to detail
  • Ability to weigh a number of options and provide the most efficient solution What experience you need:
  • Senior Network Engineer / Network Architect background with strong operational ownership (O&M) across multiple networks (e.g., Digi, Mobile, and other production/field networks). Ability to translate between AV, IT, and security stakeholders and prevent vendor blame cycles through factual analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience leading vulnerability remediation for network infrastructure: assessment, prioritization, implementation of fixes/mitigations, and validation with minimal operational impact.
  • Proven SDLC engineering/design support for new network and AV-related projects (requirements capture, high-level/low-level design, implementation planning, and cutover support).
  • Hands-on expertise with AV and lighting networks such as QSC Q-SYS, ETC, 7thSense Media Servers, BrightSign/Roku, Showmaster, Dante audio streaming , Art-Net and sACN (E1.
31) and other exhibit technologies, including an understanding of the traffic patterns they generate (broadcast/multicast behavior, real-time UDP/TCP transport considerations) and best practices for segmentation and containment.
  • Strong switch-level skills (configuration and troubleshooting) to support the AVL team's occasional needs (e.g., VLANs, IGMP snooping/querier, multicast control, QoS, port security, and storm control). This includes expertise in packet-level analysis. What you will do with the experience you bring from above:
  • Perform monitoring, observability and reliability actions
  • Implement infrastructure and lifecycle replacement projects, supporting both compliance and technical deliverables
  • Provide support for wireless and external networks
  • Develop documentation and effect knowledge transfer

  • O&M Support (approx.
65-70%): o Provide day-to-day operations and maintenance across multiple networks (including digi, mobile, and other supported networks), including incident response, troubleshooting, maintenance windows, and reliability improvements. o
Vulnerability Remediation:
Identify, plan, and execute remediation of network infrastructure vulnerabilities (patching/upgrades, configuration hardening, compensating controls), coordinating change control and validating results. o New Projects (Network + AV Engineering/Design): Support engineering and design for new initiatives—scoping, architecture, switch configuration standards, implementation planning, documentation, and deployment/cutover support
  • AV and Lighting (AVL) Team Support (approx.
25-30%): o Provide senior-level networking expertise for AVL networks, with an emphasis on switch-level configuration/troubleshooting to ensure stable operation of Dante, broadcast/multicast traffic, and real-time UDP/TCP flows. o Partner with AVL and IT stakeholders to design segmentation and traffic controls for AV/lighting protocols (e.g., Art-Net and sACN), minimizing broadcast impact and ensuring predictable performance.
Minimum training/certifications:
  • Active Cisco CCNP (required)
  • BS Degree (desired) Clearance Requirements Ability to pass a corporate and Federal background check.
Previous Federal Agency check (or higher) clearance preferred. Other Weekend and after-hours work may be required by special arrangement.
