Job Description

The Kennedy Space Center Office of the Chief Information Officer is seeking a highly qualified candidate to serve as the KSC Center IT Chief Engineer . This position provides senior technical authority and engineering leadership for all KSC IT and Communication systems, representing the KSC CIO on Center and Agency technical boards and ensuring these capabilities meet mission, operational, institutional, and future readiness needs.
Qualifications:
In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below and have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above. NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA's unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement. To qualify for GS-14 , you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level: Providing engineering technical guidance, and integration across mission critical IT & Communication systems, including system design evaluation, requirements interpretation, and resolution of technical issues affecting mission readiness; Conducting technical systems engineering evaluations for compliance with Agency standards (e.g., NPR 7123, NPR 7120.5, NPR 7120.7, NPR 7150.2, NPR 8705); Leading or providing technical guidance to multidisciplinary engineering teams in the development, integration, testing, and operational support of KSC IT and Communication capabilities, ensuring alignment with program objectives, operational requirements, and mission assurance priorities.
