  • Avionics Engineering Join the Electronic Systems Engineering (ESE) organization as a Collegiate Intern focused on Avionics and Airborne Software Development.

This position provides an opportunity to work on technologies that enable Gulfstream aircraft navigation, communications, flight deck systems, system integration, and next-generation aerospace capabilities. Electronic Systems Engineering develops, integrates, and certifies aircraft systems ranging from flight deck applications and airborne software to communications networks, sensors, and integrated avionics architectures. Engineers collaborate across multiple disciplines to transform aircraft requirements into certified aerospace solutions. As a Collegiate Intern, you will work alongside experienced systems and software engineers supporting the development, integration, verification, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems. Projects may involve software development, systems analysis, requirements validation, laboratory testing, model-based development, network analysis, or aircraft integration activities. Interns may have opportunities to utilize software development tools, simulation environments, hardware-in-the-loop labs, and aircraft system integration test facilities to support the engineering lifecycle. Assignments are designed to provide meaningful engineering experience while exposing students to real-world aerospace development processes and certification considerations. Desired Skills Software & Systems Engineering Knowledge Software development fundamentals

Programming experience in:

Python

MATLAB/Simulink (preferred)

Object-oriented software design

Software verification and validation concepts

Requirements-based development Aerospace and Embedded Systems Knowledge Embedded processor architecture fundamentals

Real-time software concepts

Digital communication protocols

Systems integration and troubleshooting

Model-Based Development exposure Aviation-Specific Knowledge Familiarity with one or more of:
ARINC 429

AFDX / ARINC 664

CAN / ARINC 825

Awareness of:

DO-178C

Systems engineering lifecycle concepts Preferred degree programs Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in one of the following disciplines:

Electrical Engineering

Computer Science

Software Engineering

Must be available to work on-site in Savannah, GA during the Spring 2027 semester, beginning in January 2027.

Completion of sophomore year is required. prior to the internship start date.

Rotation Requirements:

Juniors

  • 2 rotations; Seniors & Graduate Students
  • 1 rotation.

Minimum duration: 12 weeks (summer); 14-16 weeks (spring and fall).

Must be onsite; this is not a remote position.

Must have reliable transportation.

This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
