Akkodis is seeking a Senior Design Engineer - Audio Visual for a Direct Hire with a client in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate with proven expertise in owning end-to-end AV system designs, including requirements gathering, equipment specification, BOM creation, engineering documentation, and design handoff through implementation is required.

Salary Range:

$100K/Yearly to $135K/Yearly; The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Senior Design Engineer - Audio Visual Job Responsibilities include: Own the end-to-end design of commercial AV systems, including customer discovery, requirements gathering, system architecture, and technical solution development. Create detailed engineering documentation, including system schematics, signal flow diagrams, rack elevations, and design packages. Develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), equipment specifications, and supporting technical documentation for project delivery. Collaborate with sales, project management, and implementation teams to ensure seamless design handoff and successful project execution. Utilize tools such as D-Tools and other AV design platforms to produce high-quality design documentation and engineering deliverables. Provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle, supporting proposal development, design reviews, system validation, and implementation activities.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Audiovisual Technology, IT, or a related technical field (or equivalent industry experience). 7-10+ years of total AV industry experience, including 5+ years of dedicated AV Design Engineering experience. Proven experience working for a commercial AV integrator with ownership of end-to-end AV system designs, including customer discovery, requirements gathering, equipment specification, BOM development, and engineering documentation. Strong proficiency in AV design tools such as D-Tools and demonstrated experience creating complete design packages, supporting proposals, and managing design handoff through implementation.
