Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated EMC Test Technician to join our automotive testing team in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The EMC Test Technician will be responsible for performing electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), electromagnetic interference (EMI), and related compliance testing on automotive electronic systems and components. This role requires hands-on experience with laboratory test equipment, troubleshooting electrical systems, and executing tests in accordance with industry and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment. Candidates with military RF, avionics, electronic warfare (EW), communications, or related electronics backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Set up, configure, and operate EMC/EMI test equipment and instrumentation. Perform automotive EMC testing in accordance with standards including:
CISPR 25 ISO 11452
Series
ISO 10605 ECE R10
FCC and CE requirements Conduct emissions and immunity testing on automotive electronic components and systems. Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and test setups. Solder, modify, and repair test fixtures, harnesses, and electronic assemblies as required. Analyze test results and identify potential compliance issues. Document test procedures, configurations, observations, and results in detailed technical reports. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings. Collaborate with engineers, customers, and project teams to support testing activities and issue resolution. Maintain laboratory organization, safety, and equipment readiness. Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of EMC/EMI testing experience in automotive, aerospace, defense, military, or related industries. Hands-on experience performing EMC testing to standards such as
CISPR 25, ISO 11452, ISO 10605, ECE R10, FCC
. Proficiency with laboratory test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, RF amplifiers, antennas, and related instrumentation. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills involving electrical and electronic systems. Experience with soldering, wiring, and assembly of electronic test fixtures. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work full-time on-site in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field. Experience supporting automotive EMC validation and compliance programs. Military experience in RF communications, avionics, electronic warfare (EW), cryptographic systems, radar, ECM/ECCM, or related electronics disciplines. Familiarity with EMC chamber operation and automated test systems. Understanding of product compliance and regulatory certification processes. Education & Experience Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of EMC/EMI testing experience preferred. Equivalent military training and experience in RF, avionics, communications, or electronics will be considered in lieu of formal education.
Pay:
$26.00 - $35.00 per hour
