Job Description
Job Summary We are expanding our team and looking for a Field Service Technician/Engineer who enjoys solving problems, working directly with customers, and getting hands-on with equipment. This position is an important part of our team, providing on-site technical support and helping customers get the most out of our products and equipment. You'll travel to customer locations to install, troubleshoot, services, test, and support equipment and applications. You'll work closely with customers to identify issues, determine the best solutions, and get equipment operating properly and efficiently. Back at our facility, you'll collaborate with engineering, production and other teams members to help resolve technical challenges and improve product and processes. This is a great opportunity for someone who likes variety, enjoys figuring things out, and doesn't want to spend everyday behind a desk. You'll have the opportunity to work with different equipment, applications, and customers while developing a broad understanding of our products and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, technically curious, comfortable working independently, and able to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers. If you enjoy troubleshooting, traveling, and seeing a problem through to solution, we'd like you to join us as we continue to grow. Duties Major Areas of Responsibility -
- Repair and troubleshoot various machines in the field.
- Troubleshoot customer honing process.
- The Service Engineer will perform all activities associated with machine installations and customer service calls.
- Conduct scheduled service calls.
- Make online PLC programming changes for machine upgrades.
- Supervise operators and maintenance personnel in testing, tuning, and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum machine functionality.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, lubrication and pneumatic systems and execute the necessary adjustments to bring equipment up to running status.
- Perform training for operator, mechanical and electrical trades. Required Skills and Abilities -
- Ability to trouble shoot mechanical, electrical, and fluid power systems.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and fluid power prints.
- Ability to perform mechanical alignments on all machine components.
- Ability to accurately disassemble and re-assemble mechanical assemblies and Honing Tools.
- Ability to perform customer machine runoffs and make the necessary adjustments to meet the customers part quality specifications.
- Ability to trouble shoot industrial I/O devices, ethernet networks and vision systems.
- Proficient in PLC programming utilizing Siemens Step 7, Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell Studio 5000 software.
- Proficient in HMI programming utilizing Siemens WinCC, Siemens TIA Portal and
HMI PRO CS
software.- Proficient in setup and debug of Siemens Servo Drive Systems utilizing Sinamics Starter software.
- Proficient in setup and debug of Rexroth Servo Drive Systems utilizing IndraWorks D's software.
- Proficient in calibration of load cell force sensors and air to electronic transducers.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must be willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally. Required Education and Experience
- Engineering degree or equivalent applied engineering experience.
- Two years minimum experience in machine assembly, electrical and fluid controls debug in the machine tool industry.
