Job Description

OPEN POSITION
- Temperature Control Technician Summary of the
Job:
Responsible for preventative maintenance, repair, installation, programming, commissioning, and general service of systems (including detailed troubleshooting of systems), all under minimal supervision. Responsible for high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on-site customer interaction. Properly completes required project and service documentation.
Duties and responsibilities:
Ø Diagnoses and repairs complex control system malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital control systems and ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software. Ø Manages assigned work to meet professional and efficient execution of time and customer satisfaction. Reports problems or changes to management immediately. Ø Provides sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings. May assist with job layouts and bid proposals. Ø Communicates with the customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction. Meets regularly with the customer to become familiar with operating problems. Ø Keeps the customer informed on the nature of service provided and outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and/or replacement. Promotes the sale of add-on work. Ø Trains the customer in control systems operations. Delivers manuals and documentation to the customer for training needs as required. Ø Compiles job documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training form, training certificates, and punch lists. Ø Conducts extensive self-study (reading, research, and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in the company's product lines. Completes certifications as required by the company. Ø Programming of BAS systems supported by Mall City Mechanical, Inc. Ø Troubleshooting control systems. Ø Ethernet / IT network troubleshooting skills, computer skills, etc. Ø Customer/team members' technical support. Ø Database engineering, project engineering, and AutoCAD and/or Visio. Ø Quality control - commissioning verification. Ø Assist in setting up engineering, programming, and graphics libraries, procedures and standards. Ø Training and mentoring of technicians and programmers. Ø Assist in recruiting new talent to the Controls Group. Ø Stay up to date on current and new technology involving the Building Automation industry.
Required Qualities:
Ø Must possess the traits of: Trust, Commitment, Drive and Excellence Ø Ability to read and interpret architectural, civil, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical plans and specifications. Ø Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people. Ø Ability to write and demonstrate understanding of computer programs and software applications as related to the HVAC industry. Ø Effective relational skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts. Ø Ability to coordinate the work of others on multiple job sites. Ø Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ø Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record-keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Ø Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees. Ø Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ø Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously. Ø Availability to work overtime as needed to meet deadlines.

Microsoft Office Physical Requirements:
Ø Ability to visit loud and potentially dangerous environments, and walk around the site in proper safety equipment. Ø Ability to work in an office environment - sitting for extended periods of time. Ø Ability to climb ladders and walk on roofs.
